CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER
Sean Crane
I am a multi-disciplined creative — a writer, director, photographer, editor, and seasoned advertising vet — now working independently after a long career leading creative teams at top agencies. Most recently, I was Chief Creative Officer at Mintz + Hoke in Avon, CT, where I helped redefine the agency’s brand and reinvigorate its creative output. Before that, I spent over a decade at Grey New York during its celebrated creative renaissance, helping win major new business and producing award-winning work for brands like the NFL, National Parks, Smuckers, and Jif.
These days, I collaborate directly with brands and agencies as a freelance creative director and content creator, offering everything from brand strategy to full-scale video production. I also shoot corporate headshots and environmental portraits, always with an eye for storytelling and visual detail.
Beyond the corporate world, I lead bespoke wildlife photography tours around the globe with my wife, combining my passion for travel and conservation with a lifetime behind the lens. My work as a wildlife photographer has been recognized by the BBC, Smithsonian, and National Geographic, and featured in publications worldwide.
Whether it’s a :30 spot, a cinematic brand film, a professional portrait, or a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience, I bring the same sensibility to everything I do — one that values nuance over noise, and storytelling over spectacle.
I grew up in Cheshire, Connecticut and studied at the University of Richmond. In 2002, I spent a year living in my car, driving to all 50 states and documenting the journey through photos and writing. That trip became American Hydrant, a coffee table book published by Santa Monica Press. My photography website and daily blog can be found at seancrane.com.
